Updates
toin went live in August 2026 and gains new tools regularly. This page records what changed and when: every tool that appeared, every improvement, and every fix you would notice while using the site.
The invisible changes (refactors, tests, formatting) stay out. What is listed here is what you would see.
- Improvement
The draw now has a reveal
The result slides in instead of appearing instantly, and an optional 3·2·1 countdown builds up to it. The numbers are drawn the moment you click, so the animation only changes when they are painted, never what they are.
- Improvement
A clearer tool menu
Categories in the menu are now separated by a header, and the tool you are currently using is marked, so you always know where you are in a list of thirty-eight.
- New tool
Random draws, dice and coin flips
Five ways to let chance decide: flip a coin, roll dice, pick a name from a list, draw a number from 1 to 100, or set your own range. The draw uses your browser’s cryptographic generator and discards the values that would make low results slightly more likely.
- Milestone
Terms of use
The site now states in writing what it offers and what it does not: the tools are free, need no account, and their results are not professional advice. About and Contact also moved into the header, where they are easier to find.
- Milestone
The maths category became Numbers
A wider name for a wider shelf. “Maths” meant arithmetic and turned away tools people actually look for: a random draw is not a calculation, but it belongs next to one.
- Improvement
Compound interest pages arrive filled in
A page about saving 500 a month for 30 years used to open an empty form and ask you to type it again. Now the amount, the term and the chart are already there when the page loads.
- New tool
Fractions and rule of three
Add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions with exact results, without rounding drift, and solve direct or inverse proportions. The steps are shown, which is usually the part that was actually needed.
- New tool
Solstices and equinoxes
The exact instant each season begins, for any year, computed from the Sun’s position rather than from a fixed date, because it moves by up to two days.
- New tool
Week number and day of the year
Which ISO week a date falls in, and which day of the year it is. The first of January is not always in week 1, and the tool follows the standard, which is what payroll and logistics systems use.
- New tool
Ovulation and due date
The fertile window and the estimated due date, calculated from your own cycle length instead of assuming 28 days. Both pages say plainly what an estimate can and cannot tell you.
- New tool
Calories, tip and countdown
Three at once: your daily calorie needs with the margin the equation actually has, a tip calculator that splits the bill and deals with the cent that will not divide, and a live countdown to any date.
- New tool
Lunar eclipses
When the next lunar eclipses happen, how deep each one is, and what it actually looks like. Lunar only, on purpose: everyone on the night side sees the same eclipse at the same moment, while a solar eclipse depends on standing inside a narrow path.
- New tool
Percentages and hours
Percentage of a number, increase, decrease, difference and share of a total, one page per question, because that is how people ask them. Plus an hours calculator that adds and subtracts times and durations, including a 40-hour week, which a clock field refuses.
- New tool
Public holidays by country and year
Every national holiday of a given year, with its date and weekday, for ten countries. Where a holiday falling on a weekend moves to a weekday, the page says which ones actually do, because the rule is per holiday, not per country.
- New tool
Loans and compound interest
A loan simulator with both amortisation systems, and compound and simple interest with a chart that shows the month your interest overtakes what you put in. That crossover is the whole argument, and a table of numbers does not make it visible.
- New tool
BMI, business days and time zones
Your BMI against the WHO scale, working days between two dates with each country’s real holidays subtracted, and the time in another city on a given date, because the difference between two cities changes with the season.
- New tool
Sunrise and sunset in 150 cities
Sunrise, sunset and the twilight stages for any date, shown in the clock of the place you are asking about, not yours. Above the polar circles it says which of the two possible answers applies: midnight sun or polar night.
- New tool
Moon phases
Today’s phase, the month’s calendar and the exact instant of each new and full moon, checked against two independent astronomical sources. The drawing mirrors itself for the southern hemisphere, where a crescent is lit on the other side.

German and French bring the site to five languages
Every tool, every explanation and every address now exists in English, Portuguese, Spanish, German and French. The addresses are translated, not copied: the German page for the age calculator lives at /de/altersrechner/, because that is what people type.
- New tool
Unit converters
Length, weight, temperature, area and volume, each on its own page rather than hidden behind a dropdown, and a page of its own for the pairs people actually search, like centimetres to inches.
- Improvement
Cookie choice, and the button to change it
Visitors in Europe, the UK and Switzerland are asked before any advertising cookie is set, and rejecting takes exactly the same single click as accepting. The Cookies button in the footer reopens the choice at any time.
- Milestone
toin goes live
The site opens with the age calculator, the difference between two dates and a countdown to any date. Everything is computed in your browser: no account, no upload, and nothing typed into a tool ever leaves the page.
